A few more weeks have passed us by. Two weekends ago was pretty low-key, not much to report there.
Last Thursday Kristen and I took off from work a little early, and drove to Lusk Wyoming. We spent the night there, then headed off to Deadwood early the next morning.
We checked into our room, upgrading to a suite for $1, which seemed like a pretty good deal. We met Ma, Pa, Becky, Jason, Jean, Chuck, and a bunch of other Beckman clan at the Black Hills National Cemetery outside of Sturgis. We had a brief service for Nono, and then went our separate ways for the evening.
Kristen and I met up with Nate, Mary, Tony and Lisa in Deadwood a few hours later. We ate, drank, and gambled a bit. Nate was the big winner, coming out $50 ahead or so. The rest of us lost in various shades of red, but we all had a lot of fun. Brent & Trudy didn't make the trip, and Vince apparently was never told about it. We'll need to do better than that next time.
Saturday involved hanging out at Palmer Gulch Resort, saying "Hi" to people who looked pretty familiar. We had several Canada conversations amongst the nuclear family, as that trip is looming. We also did the traditional three legged race, water balloon toss, etc.
I'm taking off tomorrow evening to meet up with Becky & Jason in Cloquet Minnesota for one of the better burgers on the planet. We're hoping to fly into camp mid-afternoon on Sunday. Ought to be fun!
