We've had some really nice weather. We've enjoyed four or five days of above 70, and a few 80+ degree days. The cooler weather is returning, but it's been great having some spectacular spring weather.
Kristen and I headed out on the town on Friday night. CU was having their graduation, so downtown was a bit crazy. We enjoyed hanging out and people watching, lot's of parents and grand-parents in town for the ceremony.
Saturday was pretty laid back. I worked for a few hours, Kristen spent 3 hours in the yard working on the garden plots. She's planted a lot of new stuff, moved a few things around, and got a pretty good sunburn. We had our first salad out of the garden for dinner. Tasty!
Sunday morning Kristen ran the Mother's Day Title 9k at the reservoir. Our friend Mary ran it as well, I got to help watch Violet and Karissa during the race, which was exciting. Kristen survived the run, and had fun doing it.
We headed into Longmont for a few hours, watching a lot of middle-aged Harley riders cruise through town. It looked like a lot of them had come in from Deadwood, judging by their outfits. Seemed a bit early to be out on the bikes, but I guess when you have the love for the road, it's hard to ignore its call. Or something.

Happy Easter!
We had a big Easter lunch on Sunday. We had 14 people total, including Kristen and myself. After lunch, we hid some Easter chocolate for Maddock and Ashley. It was a lot of fun watching them run around the yard in some kind of candy anticipation/panic. I think they found all the chocolate, although I'm sure the squirrels will make short work of the rest.
Kristen cooked up quite a feast, and the rest of the family brought additional food. We had probably twice what we needed, and everyone went home with leftovers. Ma's Christmas casserole was probably the most popular dish.

4/20/2011
We've been busy the last couple of weeks. I got a last day of snowboarding, we moved everything out of the last storage unit, Kristen took Maddock to the Denver Aquarium, we moved stuff around in the garage, we did a lot of gardening and yard work.
The Indiana trip is coming up in about a week. We saw in the news that southern Indiana was supposed to get high winds and possible tornados. Perhaps this trip will involve cleaning up the wreckage of the tree house, instead of staying in it. Time will tell.
Today is 4/20, and at exactly 4:20pm the yearly "smoke out" occurred at CU. It has gotten fairly large and famous in the last few years, so a few co-workers and I decided to bike up there and witness the spectacle. The crowd size was estimated at 10,000. That's a lot of pot smokers, although at least 20% of the people were like us, just there to spectate.
Right at 4:20, a loud cheer ripped through the crowd, and large plumes of smoke billowed upward. It was quite a sight, and would have been hard to imagine 10 years ago. Afterward, people just sort of wandered off, probably looking for something to snack on.

Opening Weekend
On Saturday, Kristen and I met up with Katie and Jordan to catch a Rockies game on Opening Day weekend. The weather cooperated, breaking the record high temperature for the day at 86 degrees. We had fun, as always, and the Rockies managed to win the game.
On Sunday the weather changed dramatically. We saw a lot of rain, and a fair amount of snow. The rain was badly needed, so we didn't complain too much. I spent a good amount of the evening at work releasing a new version of our software.
Last Tuesday I managed to play hooky from work again. A big storm came through the mountains, and managed to deposit 14 inches of snow in Winter Park. It was one of the better days of the year. I often have a hard time explaining how much fun snowboarding is, the below video may offer some insight into how much I enjoy it.

Lots O' Stuff
I was in Portland early last week. Matt and I headed out to sit down with corporate and map out our next years worth of work. Things are a bit grim at the mothership, people are getting laid off, and it looks like more are to follow. We've let one of our co-workers go, so we'll be back down to 8 people in a few weeks. However, we should be stable for the next year, unless something surprising pops up.

Kristen and I received some belated X-mas gifts from the Browns last week. We had a lot of fun opening up the zillion packages, trying to determine who got what. We argued over the beautiful bread knife for quite some time. Thanks Becky & Jason!
After so much traveling, Kristen and I mostly stayed around the house this weekend. Kristen spent a lot of time gardening, and I spent a good amount of time in the garage. I'll be taking one more load of junk to Goodwill tomorrow. A few more trips there and we'll be officially fully moved in.
Flowers are starting to pop up everywhere. We spot a few more each day.
Ada is enjoying being the only cat in the house. Little does she know we're planning on getting a kitten in a month or so.
Sometime within the last two weeks, Kristen's sister Allison gave birth to a healthy baby boy: Conall.
I'm sure I'm missing other tidbits of news. Kristen and I are getting excited for the farm trip at the end of April. We're hoping that our lives settle down a bit between now and then.
